I was joking with my co-workers that I will replace the Canadian flag on my backpack with a US flag now - now that it is cool to be an American again :)
It's interesting. I'm wondering how Japanese people are taking this whole thing. Despite the marked xenophobia and bizarre white worshipping/resenting racism, exhibited by many Japanese, it was not at all uncommon for them to assert that America was a racist nation. While the accusation was naturally true (I know of no nation that isn't) but the presupposition underlying it, that the US is MORE racist than other countries, or in this case, more racist that Japan, is difficult to credit. I think that many of these people must be having exploding heads about now.
