Deep down I have thought that this was there plan all along -- I just hope it was. Anyway, if I can think of it, they certainly can too, so ergo they are doing it or they think it was a bad idea. We'll see.

It's been a while since I've been here. Hope all's well where you are.
I have imagined in the past that politicians were being clever when they were being stupid. After the '04 debacle where the Kerry folks just flat-out refused to take Bush on regarding security, I came to the conclusion that my understanding of political strategy is just plain better than the bozos running our party. Then came Obama. I liked him. Hell, I loved him. But he just wasn't doing it right. He didn't fight them the way I knew he should. Politics is bloodsport damn it!
Then came the Edwards endorsement preempting Hillary's "victory lap" after WVa. It was the perfect stiletto between the ribs. Then came him giving Palin enough rope to hang her and McCain and for the first time in a long time, I began to think that maybe, just maybe, this guy actually knew what he was doing, that maybe he was actually better at this than I was. For now, I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt. Until he fails, I will not again question his political judgment.
