Howard Zinn on war

I'm sorry, but Howard Zinn is part of the problem.

He cherry-picks his data and quotes extensively from tendentious left-wing sources in order to inflame people without knowing what in the hell he is talking about.

The very simple fact is that evil is and if we wish to grapple with it we must first embrace it. In doing so we lose our innocence. That's just the way it is.

The alternative is to not only accept, but to consciously abet the ultimate victory of evil.

Zinn and his ilk are moral narcissists and I have no use for them at all. By embracing unqualified pacifism and categorically rejecting the application of violence to achieve a political end, they help to discredit more moderate critics of violence and thus make war more, rather than less likely.

Practically speaking, the failure to distinguish between World War II and Iraq is not to reject WWII, but to embrace Iraq.

This is why Obama is a real leader. "I'm not against all wars. I am against dumb wars."

Obama is a leader. Zinn, on the other hand, is part of the problem.

Sorry, just had to get that off my chest. I really don't like that guy.
